Would Durbin and these representatives speak at an event of a Nazi group? What’s the difference? CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) CAIR chapters frequently distribute pamphlets telling Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. CAIR’s Hussam Ayloush in 2017 called for the overthrow of the U.S. government. CAIR’s national outreach manager is an open supporter of Hamas.
Durbin is a Democrat, but there are plenty of Republican Useful Idiots as well. That any American politician of any political camp would appear at any function of this unsavory group speaks to the confusion of our age, and of how casual U.S. officials have become in their acceptance of hatred for the country they are supposed to be serving.
“Suburban religious leaders hosting interfaith prayer service Sunday,” by Madhu Krishnamurthy, Daily Herald, January 9, 2021:
…CAIR-Chicago (the Council on American Islamic Relations) will host a free virtual annual banquet at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17.
This year’s event, themed “Reimagining Justice,” will reflect on the group’s work combating Islamophobia on behalf of Muslim communities throughout the Chicago area and suburbs.
Its work includes fighting discrimination and civil rights abuses related to airport travel, jobs, housing, law enforcement, and the media.
Speakers include local and national Muslim leaders and elected officials including U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin; U.S. Reps. Chuy Garcia, Marie Newman, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib; and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison.
